DGDA, Diriyah —
Bujairi Terrace
Dining Quarter
BRANDING & LOGO DESIGN
Bujairi Terrace offers a unique cultural
experience, being Riyadh’s premier
destination for world-class gastronomical and regional cuisine, situated next to At-Turaif, a UNESCO heritage site within the heart of the historic city of Diriyah in Saudi Arabia.
The brief was to create a brand marque and identity for Bujairi Terrace which would align with the overarching brand development of Diriyah city and it’s luxury residential neighbourhoods; all referencing the local Najdi architecture.
Inspired by the local architectural details, I created a logo marque with a dynamic feel, reflecting an evolving destination hub for social and culinary experience. The original name of the quarter was Matal Al Bujairi, later changed by the client to Bujairi Terrace.
I developed a word marque using a triangle as negative space – alluding to the Najdi detail and to create a sense of space. The client chose this logo, but ultimately requested a traditional letterform. Arabic language versions of the final logo were produced in S.A. with our direction.
I also contributed to the development of the brand identity and designed examples of brand application for a style guide. Included were merchandise items, stationary, DL brochure, hoarding, window treatments and various print collateral.
